PINGREE BUCHANAN SCHOOL

DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING OCTOBER 17, 2018

A regular meeting of the Pingree Buchanan School District Board of Education was held on October 17, 2018, at 7:00 P.M. in the high school. Present: Brandon Wilson, Marv Allen, Trish Jungels, Steve Homes, Jeremy Sorenson, and Brett Mcllonie. Absent: Corey Bohl. Kimary Edland recorded the minutes. President Mcllonie called the meeting to order and declared a quorum present. It was moved by Jungels, seconded by Sorenson and carried (all voting yes on voice vote) to approve the Agenda. It was moved by Sorenson, seconded by Wilson and carried (all voting yes on voice vote) to approve the minutes from September 19, 2018. Elementary Principal Terrie Neys presented update on elementary activities including: GBB finishing and elementary BBB starting, she attended the NDCEL conference, Miss North Dakota will present to the students, she has visited with a state trooper about stopping in at the school from time to time, Mike Soulis is the counselor, several teachers will be attending a coding workshop, the 5 & 6 graders have been using the SmartLab, students are still be dropped off and picked up at TRACs, she is looking at a human trafficking presentation and that the sheriff is giving a presentation on bullying. Superintendent/High School Principal: In Kurt Hayes absence the Board received his report in writing.

President: Brett Mcllonie presented two contracts from the NDSBA in regards to their services related to a superintendent search. After discussion it was moved by Homes, seconded by Allen and carried (all voting aye on voice vote) to enter into a contract with NDSBA for Option Three at a rate of $6,500.00 plus miscellaneous expenses. It was moved by Jungels, seconded by Allen and carried (all voting yes on voice vote) to approve the financial reports and payment of bills as presented It was moved by Homes, seconded by Wilson and carried (all voting yes on voice vote) to approve a no tuition agreement for a student from Pingree Buchanan School District to attend Jamestown School District and a no tuition agreement for a student from Jamestown School District to attend Pingree Buchanan School District It was moved by Homes, seconded by Sorenson and carried (all voting yes on voice vote) to accept the resignation of business manager Kimary Edland effective November 30, 2018 and to advertise for the position. It was moved by Sorenson, seconded by Jungels and carried (all voting yes on voice vote) to approve the appointment of Corey Bohl to the sports Coop committee. It was moved by Homes, seconded by Sorenson and carried (all voting yes on voice vote) to approve the contract of Bob Young as assistant football coach at a rate of $2,500.00 with $175/week beyond regular season and the contract of Alexis Barnick for extra music events as outlined at a rate of $1,925.00. It was moved by Sorenson, seconded by Jungels and carried (all voting yes on voice vote) to approve adding technology coordinator time for Jacey Erickson at $25.00/hour with her keeping a time sheet as to the hours worked with a description of duties performed so she can assist with professional development/ training, Online Learning, Power School, to up-date programs, and general technology time. The next regular meeting of the Board will be November 21, 2018 at 7:00 P.M.

It was moved by Sorenson, seconded by Wilson and carried (all voting yes on voice vote) to adjourn at 8:16 PM.
