EDINBURG, N.D. — A simple idea from by high school seniors is changing thousands of lives. Tonight little girls around the world are wearing new clothes, for the first time in their lives. "Sierra and I just cried. We were like okay now we have to set a new goal." Sierra Jenson and Ally Knutson's goal didn't only involve themselves, but a way for the entire community of Edinburg to help with a project. "We decided to set a goal of 100 dresses for our school and community to make," Sierra Jenson.
Grand Forks, N.D. — Police say it happens to them on a daily basis. But in this case this guy got away with it for days in a case of un-brotherly love. On Sunday, April 1, Dustin Decoteau, Dominick McLeod, Jesse Saldivar, and Autumn Spragg were arrested and booked into Grand Forks County Jail after deputies found nearly five grams of meth in their car during a traffic stop just outside of Thompson, N.D.
REYNOLDS, N.D. — Prosecutors are finalizing paperwork tonight, April 2 — to bring an alleged reckless truck driver back to the U.S. The video attached this web story shows the out of control semi nearly taking the life of a Grand Forks deputy and his partner. The Grand Forks Sheriff's Department used one word to describe the driving habits of this semi.
DEVILS LAKE—It's every parent's worst nightmare. A local man buries his 11-year-old daughter. He says his daughter's death, the result of pressure from other kids. Now this father is sharing his grief to promote change so no other child has to think suicide is their only way out. Art projects were one of the many fun activities Shane Paulsen liked to do with his daughter Madissen. "My daughter was awesome man, 6th grader, straight A student, clarinet player," he said.
GRAND FORKS - A Grand Forks police officer has been honored for not one, but two special deliveries. It's lunch time for one-month-old Amelia Rose, fresh off an afternoon nap. Amelia is SarahJean Stallman's new bundle of joy. "She is a wonderful blessing," Stallman said. This story includes a second blessing as well. "It was cool to be a part of what I was a part of," said Grand Forks police officer Mike Ruit. Ruit was part of the special delivery. "I didn't think she would come that quickly," Ruit said.
GRAND FORKS—What started as an investigation into the death of an 18 year old in the Red River Valley would lead detectives overseas. "They came to our house, it was three in the morning, we sat there for the next five hours in shock," said Jason Henke. Jason and Laura Henke's son Bailey had just been found dead inside a Grand Forks apartment building. Their son had overdosed on powdered fentanyl. "It is still a shock, still not real," Jason Henke said.
WARREN -- A medical examiner is working to identify human remains found along the Red River over the weekend. Meanwhile, authorities are looking to see if this is a break in a 20 year old cold case.
