Jamestown receives 0.81 inches of rain over weekend
The National Weather Service is reporting 0.81 inches of rain from Saturday evening through Monday morning in Jamestown.
The heaviest rain occurred at 9 p.m. Sunday when 0.33 inches of rain was reported in one hour.
Rain amounts were greater south of Jamestown, according to Daryl Ritchison, interim director of the North Dakota Agricultural Weather Network.
Ritchison said radar indicated about 2 inches of rain in the Streeter area. Reports from Edgeley indicated 2.05 inches of rain with 3 inches of rain reported in the Oakes area.
As of Monday morning, Jamestown had received 3.86 inches of precipitation in June, making the month about 1.33 inches wetter than normal.
Jamestown is 0.45 inches behind normal in year-to-date precipitation with 7.63 inches of moisture compared to a normal of 8.08 inches.
