Hit-and-run crash injures bicyclist

A Jamestown woman was injured in an early morning hit-and-run crash, according to Sgt. Shane Gallagher of the Jamestown Police Department.

The crash occurred at approximately 12:54 a.m. Sunday in front of the Anchor Bar at 8210 33rd Street SE, he said. A 36 year old woman was riding a bicycle when she was struck by a car and the driver fled the scene without stopping, he said.

The woman was transported to Jamestown Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries, Gallagher said. The only description of the vehicle is that it is a black, four-door sedan with a missing passenger side mirror, he said.

The police are asking for witnesses or anyone who knows of a vehicle matching the description to call the police department at 252-1000.
